The first ever Always On The Run skate/surf road trip finally happened !!! Thanks to the guys from a local skate/surf shop Revival Yamba we could finally show our support to a local skate community by organising the first Game of A.O.T.R !
We left Gold Coast on Saturday arvo to make sure we get there in time for some morning surf. We booked in the Yamba backpackers and out of nowhere we found ourselves in the middle of a glitter party in the local pub.
Luckily for our surfing plans we got kicked out of the pub about midnight haha…
The rest is history…
Got some sweet waves in the morning, although it wasn’t too big, but hey, any surf is good.

The brand new collection of polarised sunglasses from AOTR has arrived. We gave a few away at the game of skate

A great local crew came up for a skate. Thanks to Jacob Scott from Revival and Jack Berger we had some sweet judging set up and heaps of drinks for everyone. We started the Game of skate about 1pm.
The under 18’s.
1st place went to Benny Mann
2nd Billy Bradley

Then the big battles begun. Especially one between Jake Edwards (AOTR team rider) from GC and Dean Barber a local switch magician. It could have as well been the final. And unfortunately for AOTR, Jake lost by one letter.
Dean went to the final to skate against Benny. Yes Benny from the under 18. After a great game, Benny eventually took both of the titles and all the Always On The Run tees.

I am so stoked with the great attitude of the Yamba crew. Thanks to their warm welcome I felt like in the good old days when you would go to other cities, meet people that skate and make some friends. This was one of those days that pays off for all the hard work put into AOTR. Thanks guys for making our first road trip an epic experience ! Thanks to Jake for joining the team !!!
I already can’t wait for the next one. And hopefully it’s going to be Lismore or any other location you guys pick. Just drop us a line if you have any ideas.
